Former President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC), vowing to promote and strengthen the party.
In a statement released on Thursday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari dismissed speculations about his possible defection, emphasizing his commitment to the ruling party.
“I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularise the party by all means,” he was quoted as saying.
Buhari, who led the country under the APC from 2015 to 2023, made it clear that he remains dedicated to the party that brought him to power.
He expressed gratitude for the support he received before and during his presidency, describing it as the highest honor. He added that he has no further personal demands but remains focused on ensuring the party’s growth.
The former president also highlighted the sacrifices made by the party’s founding fathers in building a strong platform to uphold the constitution and democracy, stressing that these efforts should be valued and sustained.
