Breaking: Kano Governor Orders Arrest of Deposed Emir Bayero

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has ordered the immediate arrest of the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, accusing him of creating tension in the state upon his return.
In a statement issued on Saturday morning by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf directed the Commissioner of Police to arrest Ado Bayero for disturbing public peace and attempting to destabilize the state.
“The former Emir was smuggled into Kano city last night in an attempt to forcefully return to the palace two days after being deposed by the Governor,” the statement read.
“As the Chief Security Officer of the state, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has directed the Commissioner of Police to arrest the deposed Emir with immediate effect for disturbing public peace and attempting to destroy the relative peace the state enjoys.”
Ado Bayero returned to Kano early Saturday, greeted by a crowd of supporters at the Aminu Kano International Airport.
His whereabouts had been unknown since his deposition by Governor Yusuf on Thursday. The aircraft carrying Ado Bayero landed at 4:30 am, where he was met by supporters chanting a verse from Surah Al-Fatihah.
