Bandits Kidnap 60 Persons in Fresh Attack on Kaduna Village

At least 60 individuals have reportedly been abducted by bandits in Buba village, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday while the villagers were asleep, adding to the escalating insecurity in the region.
Though the police authorities have not officially confirmed the attack, Abubakar Buda, the Councilor representing the ward, revealed to Channels Television that the bandits descended on the community in large numbers, swiftly moving from house to house to abduct residents while firing shots indiscriminately.
Buda further disclosed that the swift intervention of the military thwarted the bandits’ attempts to abduct more individuals. However, several members of the community sustained injuries of varying degrees while attempting to escape the kidnapping spree.
Security operatives have since been deployed to the area to prevent further attacks by the marauding bandits, indicating a heightened state of vigilance in the region.
This latest abduction in Kajuru comes just five days after a similar attack in the Kuriga community of the Chikun Local Government Area, where bandits kidnapped 287 students from LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School.
As Kaduna State grapples with recurring incidents of banditry and abduction, concerns over the safety and security of residents continue to mount, prompting calls for decisive action to address the growing menace of criminal activities in the state.
