The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has declared the results of the local government elections held on Saturday, revealing that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won all 21 local council chairmanship positions. The results were announced by the commission’s chairperson, Genevieve Osakwe, on Sunday in Awka.
In addition to the chairmanship victories, APGA successfully secured all councillorship seats throughout the state. Osakwe highlighted the election’s transparency, labeling it as the most fair to date, and emphasized that the results were meticulously collated and analyzed to ensure their precision.
Osakwe expressed her appreciation to the citizens of Anambra for their strong voter turnout and praised the security agencies for maintaining order during the elections. She stated, “This is to affirm the results of the chairmanship and councillorship elections held on September 28, 2024. The commission carefully collated and analyzed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes.”
In conclusion, Osakwe reiterated that the elections were conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner, with results being announced at all polling units across the state.
