APC Launches Digital Media Committee Ahead of National Convention

Niger State Governor Umaru Bago on Tuesday inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) digital and new media sub-committee in Abuja, ahead of the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27–28 at Eagle Square.

As chairman of the sub-committee, Bago urged members to ensure effective communication before, during, and after the convention, highlighting the importance of social media in promoting the achievements and ongoing initiatives of President Bola Tinubu.

“Our goal is to reach millions worldwide with messages from the APC national convention,” Bago said during the inaugural meeting.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and co-chairman of the committee, Benjamin Kalu, emphasised a coordinated effort to showcase the party’s achievements and policy direction across digital platforms. “We are not just holding a convention; we are demonstrating to the world that there is a party in Africa that believes in real democracy for the people,” he stated.

Ortega Ogra, senior special assistant to the President on digital and new media, outlined the committee’s ambitious target, saying, “We aim to connect with at least 100 million Nigerians and 400 million people globally using a combination of digital tools.”

The sub-committee will shape a consistent and compelling narrative, reflecting the APC’s commitment to democratic principles and organisational efficiency ahead of the national convention.
