Governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC), as part of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna on Monday. The visit, which followed a closed-door meeting, underscored unity, strength, and continuity within the party.
PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that it took place during a period of religious reflection following Ramadan, Lent, and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Uzodinma praised Buhari as a “father figure in Nigerian politics,” expressing joy at his “good health and high spirits.” He also commended Buhari for his leadership, which, he said, laid the foundation for the APC’s dominance.
With an eye on the 2027 general elections, Uzodinma emphasized the importance of internal cohesion and focused leadership. He reaffirmed the APC’s position as “Nigeria’s largest and most formidable political party.”
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, who hosted the meeting, also lauded Buhari as a “leader and statesman,” whose legacy continues to guide the party.
