Charles Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate, has defeated his primary rivals in their local government area.
In the native council of Aguata LGA, Mr. Soludo defeated Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the three main competitors.
In their respective polling units in Isuofia, Uga, and Amesi town in Aguata, Messrs Soludo, Uba, and Ozigbo had won.
Mr Soludo won in Isuofia, Nkpologwu, Igbo-Ukwu I and II, Ekwulobia II, and Umuchu I and II, among others, out of the LGA’s 20 wards.
He received 9,136 votes out of a total of 19,548 valid ballots cast.
Mr Uba, his closest challenger, received 4,773 votes, while Mr Ozigbo received 3,798 votes.
Elections were not held in some polling stations across four wards within the LGA, according to Alim Ajake, the Collation Officer for Aguata LGA. Three units in Umuchu I (2,292 voters), two units in Ekwulobia II, three units in Igbo-Ukwu I, and five units in Igbo-Ukwu II are among them.
