On Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu met with acting Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Folashodun Shonubi.
Four days after taking over the apex bank following Godwin Emefiele’s suspension, Shonubi met with President Tinubu.
Shonubi previously served as the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) of the country’s central bank.
Recall that Willie Bassey, Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), announced Emefiele’s suspension in a statement on Friday.
Following the directive suspending Emefiele from office, he was directed to hand over the affairs of the CBN to Shonubu who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.
