The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has declared August 9, 2021, as a public holiday for workers in the state in commemoration of Hijrah 1443 AH.
The statement congratulated Muslims and non-Muslims in advance on the occasion of this year’s Hijrah.
Also, the Oyo State Government has announced Tuesday, August 10, 2021, as a public holiday to commemorate the Islamic New Year – Hijrah 1443 AH.
According to a circular, Governor Seyi Makinde enjoined Muslims and people of other religions to use the holiday to pray for the peace, unity, and growth of the state and the country.
Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has declared Monday, Muharram 1, 1443 AH (August 9, 2021) as a work-free day in the state.
According to a statement signed by the commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, a copy made available to pressmen, said the holiday was in commemoration of the new Islamic calendar 1443 AH.
Ganduje also congratulated the Muslims on the dawn of the new Islamic year, which calls for thanksgiving and sober reflection.
The statement further enlisted the support and cooperation of the people for the government as it strives hard to better their lots in the face of daunting challenges facing the nation.
Also, Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, has declared August 9, 2021, as public holiday.
