Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday dissolved the entire State Executive Council, including the Secretary to State Government, Chief of Staff, and special advisers.
Addressing journalists, the immediate past Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu who was accompanied by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, said some of the decisions reached at the council meeting held at Government House, Asaba, were part of efforts to restructure governance for better service delivery to Deltans.
Aniagwu named those affected by the dissolution to include the 25 Commissioners, Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Chiedu Ebie; Chief of Staff, Mr. David Edevbie; Senior Political
Adviser, Mr. Funkekeme Solomon; Chief Strategist, Festus Agas and Special Advisers.
According to him had before the dissolution thanked all members of his government for their contributions in the past six years. Members of the dissolved Executive Council have also been advised to hand over government property in their possession to the most senior government officials in their respective offices. Aniagwu further disclosed the approval of the dismissal of Bernard Onomovo over his alleged involvement in the illegal inclusion of names into the state government’s payroll.
