The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the Federal Government-approved fares for the 2027 Hajj, warning intending pilgrims and state pilgrims’ boards to meet the stipulated payment and biometric registration deadlines to avoid losing allocated slots.
The approved fares vary according to departure zones, with pilgrims from the Maiduguri/Yola Zone paying ₦7,560,822, those from the Northern Zone paying ₦7,672,822, while pilgrims from the Southern Zone will pay ₦7,882,822.
NAHCON said the fares were determined after consultations with the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and key service providers in Saudi Arabia, taking into account prevailing exchange rates and the cost of services.
The commission said the rates were guided by the principles of transparency and cost efficiency, as well as the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
Intending pilgrims who have already paid the initial ₦5 million deposit are required to pay the outstanding balance to complete their registration.
New applicants, meanwhile, are to make payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies or Commissions, or participating banks under an approved Hajj Savings Scheme.
NAHCON also fixed September 26, 2026, as the final deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform.
The commission stressed that the deadline was set in line with the policy of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and would not be extended.
In addition, all 2027 Hajj fares collected by the states must be remitted to NAHCON by December 2, 2026.
According to the commission, timely payment and remittance are essential because pilgrims’ data synchronisation and seat allocation depend on completing the process within the prescribed timelines.
NAHCON warned that failure by states or intending pilgrims to meet the deadlines could result in the forfeiture of allocated Hajj slots.
The commission therefore urged State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions, as well as intending pilgrims, to comply strictly with the payment and biometric registration schedules to secure their places for the 2027 pilgrimage.
