Pst. Adefarasin: I’m Ready if Nigeria Goes to War

Prominent Nigerian pastor and televangelistPaul Adefarasin, has raised alarm over the surge in terrorist attacks and abductions nationwide, cautioning that Nigeria must brace for any possible escalation if ongoing peace efforts fail.

Speaking during a church service, Adefarasin said he hopes the country does not descend into war but stressed that he is personally prepared should the security situation worsen.

According to him, while government-led diplomatic engagements could help end terrorism, he remains strongly opposed to negotiating with terrorists, insisting that such discussions are extremely complicated.

“I certainly hope that Nigeria doesn’t have to go to war, but I’m ready for it,” he told the congregation. “Can’t discuss those things because there is still dialogue going on and it is two civilizations globally fighting, Nigeria is just one of the fronts. I hope the dialogue works and expunge terrorism from Nigeria perpetually. It is going to take a lot of brain and negotiation, but I really don’t think you should negotiate with terrorists.”

Adefarasin emphasized that defeating terrorism in Nigeria will require strategic planning, intellectual depth, and firm decisions. He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant as the nation confronts increasingly sophisticated security threats.
