The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the upcoming academic session.
The decision was taken during JAMB’s policy meeting on admissions held on Tuesday in Abuja, presided over by the board’s Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.
Minimum cut-off marks for other tertiary institutions were also approved as follows:
· Polytechnics: 100
· Colleges of Education and Agriculture: 100
· Colleges of Nursing Sciences: 140
The board disclosed the new benchmarks via a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating:
“The minimum admissible scores for admissions for the next academic session have been fixed at 150 for universities, 100 for polytechnics, 100 for colleges of education, and 140 for colleges of nursing sciences by the stakeholders (Heads of Tertiary Institutions).”
JAMB clarified that while these figures serve as national minimum thresholds, individual institutions are allowed to set higher cut-off marks based on their admission policies subject to the board’s approval.
