The Confederation of African Football has confirmed that the results of the drug tests conducted on three Super Eagles players at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) have turned out negative.
Napoli’s star striker Victor Osimhen, along with teammates Ademola Lookman and captain William Troost-Ekong, underwent random drug testing by the Confederation of African Football following their impressive performance against Cameroon in Saturday’s Round of 16 match.
Osimhen played a pivotal role in the Super Eagles’ 2-0 victory, showcasing determination by dispossessing a Cameroon defender and assisting Lookman for the opening goal. His relentless pursuit of every ball posed a continuous threat to the Cameroon defense, capturing CAF’s attention and resulting in his selection for a random drug test.
