Joseph R. Biden Jr. has been sworn in as the 46th President of America in an atmosphere heightened by security personnel and a swirling pandemic.
Dignitaries trickled into the Capitol Hill to witness the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Although the out gone President Donald Trump was not present to celebrate his successor, the 46th President of the United States of America was graced with the presence of past Presidents both Democrat and Republican and also the outgone Vice President Mike Pence.

Former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama among others were on the ground to witness the transition.
President Joe Biden’s Inauguration looked a bit different from past ceremonies ushering in a new administration as the presence of Covid-19 hampered the usual elaborate and venue packed ceremony.Social distancing and the use of face mask was obvious as everyone present had on them their face masks with glitz and glamour thereby adding color to life as the world battles covid.
In his speech, President Biden expressly spoke on unity, oneness and togetherness seeking for an undivided nation “We celebrate the cause of democracy. Democracy is precious, Democracy is fragile, Democracy has prevailed”. He reassured the American people of his commitment to all Americans not some Americans”We will get through this together”.
The president and his vice have since commenced work as the Vice President, Kamala Harris swore in three new Senators while Biden signed his first executive orders, including actions to impose a mask mandate on federal property and rejoin the Paris climate accord.
