Newcastle is insisting on James Maddison. The club had formerly put in an offer of 40 million pounds for his signing, but Leicester City turned down that offer.

An agreement for the 25-year-old footballer, who arrived from Norwich for 24 million in June 2018 is close. The sale would be a success for Leicester, who wants to get the best out of him. The deal would be the most expensive in Newcastle’s history, more than the 40 million they paid in 2019 for former Hoffenheim footballer Joelinton.
Newcastle has signed Matt Targett, Nick Pope, and Sven Botman this summer. Harvey Barnes, also of Leicester City, is also being linked with a move away this summer.
