In a decision handed down on Thursday, Justice Adeyemi Ajayi, the presiding judge, granted the suspended AGF release under liberal terms.
The Administrative Bail granted to Idris by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) was likewise adopted by Justice Ajayi in its entirety.
Recall that Idris was detained in Kano State as a result of the commission’s repeated requests for him to provide information regarding the alleged N80 billion fraud.
He was however arraigned by the EFCC on a 14-count charge alongside Godfrey Olusegun Akindele and Mohammed Kudu Usman, and Gezawa Commodity Market and Exchange Limited.
The judge also stipulated that one of the terms of the defendant’s bail was that they had to remain in the FCT and obtain permission before leaving.
The defendants were also required to sign an affidavit agreeing to adhere to all of their bail conditions, and Justice Adeyemi ordered that they remain in the Kuje Correctional Facility until their bail requirements are met.
The defendants were also told by the judge to deposit their passports in the court and undertake not to get any new ones while their case was pending.
