2023: “Many Who Mock Us Will Gnash Their Teeth When Obi Is Elected President” – Okupe To Critics

Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson, has criticized people who believe that the Labour Party does not have the structure to win a presidential election.

Okupe claimed that Peter Obi, the LP’s presidential candidate, will triumph in the 2023 election in a tweet on Friday.

“Those mocking us will weep when Obi wins the presidential election,” Okupe said in a statement after his name was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission as Obi’s running partner.

He said, “Many who deride and mock us that we have no structure will weep and gnash their teeth when Obi is elected President in 2023.

“These folks underestimate the power of a youthful population who have resolved irrevocably to take their country back and also the network of the Nigeria Labour Congress and its affiliates.”

“Labour party is the fastest growing political party in Nigeria. A nationwide survey shows the influx of about 100,000 new members daily. Not counting those who just become OBIdient on their own, waiting to vote Peter Obi as President in 2023. Nigerians join the winning team, and become OBIdient today!”

This happened just hours after Dino Melaye, a former Senator from Kogi West Senatorial District, told Obi that the time is not right for him to be President of Nigeria.

Melaye requested Obi to hold off till his time in a video posted on his official Facebook page on Friday.

“I commend you, Peter Obi, for your efforts to create a new Nigeria. I celebrate the conscientization of the Nigerian youths and the public, but I want to advise that your time is not now. You’re an outstanding Nigerian. Your political and intellectual cunning is to be commended. One Nigerian is you. I’m sure there will be room for you tomorrow, but let’s put the social media drama aside for the time being. Forget about the diaspora euphoria,” he said.
