Sokoto State Government has relieved the 24-hour curfew imposed on the capital city. Governor Aminu Tambuwal, according to a statement by Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Isah Bajini Galadanci, revised the curfew from dusk to dawn in the metropolis.
The new order, the Commissioner said, was a sequel to the briefing by security heads in the State. The Government urged people to maintain peace as it will not condone any breach of law and order in the State.
The 24-hour curfew was imposed on Saturday to quell the tension after youths protested demanding the release of two suspects allegedly linked to the killing of Miss Deborah Samuel, a student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education (SSCOE) Sokoto over alleged blasphemy on Thursday.
