Honorable Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, was purportedly assassinated by bandit terrorists.
Senator Shehu Sani announced the death of the lawmaker representing the Giwa West Constituency in a tweet on Wednesday.
Sani, a former lawmaker, had earlier requested prayers for a member of the state legislature at 10:15 a.m. without providing any information.
He then revealed that Gadagau had been shot by bandits on his route to Kaduna and had passed away.
Meanwhile, bandit terrorists abducted five people in Dutsen Abba, Zaria Local Government Area, Kaduna State, during a raid on two communities.
The terrorists who attacked the first community, Dallatu village, in the early hours of Wednesday seized two persons and stole possessions, according to reports.
The criminals then moved to Kasuwar Da’a village where they abducted six people including three children and women.
Speaking with Daily Trust, residents of the area said the terrorists released the kidnapped children on Wednesday morning leaving five people in captivity.
As of the time of filing this report, Kaduna State Police Command is yet to make a statement regarding the attack on the two villages.
