Utuk Withdraws Case at Supreme Court backs Udofia

   Former All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Prince Augustine Utuk has announced his decision to withdraw his case at the Supreme Court. 

Utuk at the gathering of party supporters at his residence in Uyo on Friday, the grassroots politician endorsed the party’s candidate Akan Udofia. Udofia recently participated in the reconciliation of former Governor Godswill Akpabio and retired Police Deputy Inspector-General Udom Ekpoudom. Utuk contested the May 26 2022 APC governorship primaries but approached the apex court after the outcome.

Utuk challenged the judgment of the Court of Appeal which affirmed Udofia as the rightful and duly nominated governorship candidate.

This week, the aspirant formally applied for discontinuance of his appeal case against Udofia at the Supreme court in the suit marked SC/CV/158/2023. Utuk explained that his decision was borne out of his “commitment to the progress and success of the party in the state” In his remarks, Udofia said he was not surprised because they are of the “same breed and pedigree”. He promised to work with party members to secure victory on March 11.
