U.S. Launches Seventh Consecutive Night of Strikes on Iran as Regional Tensions Escalate

The United States military has carried out a seventh consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran, intensifying its campaign as Tehran warns that continued attacks could trigger a broader military confrontation.

In a statement posted on X on Friday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the latest operation began at 19:00 GMT and was intended to further degrade Iran’s military capabilities under the direction of President Donald Trump.

CENTCOM later said the operation involved fighter aircraft, armed drones and naval warships targeting what it described as Iranian surveillance installations, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities and maritime assets.

According to the U.S. military, strikes were carried out in several locations, including Jask, Sirik, Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Ahvaz and Yazd.

Iranian state media reported multiple explosions across the country during the early hours of Saturday.

The official IRNA news agency said at least five explosions were heard in the central city of Yazd, while state television reported three blasts in the southern city of Sirik. The Mehr news agency also reported explosions in several southern provinces.

Iranian media later said at least three people were killed and eight others wounded in strikes in Hormozgan province, which borders the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

The latest exchange comes as a military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader warned that Tehran could launch a full-scale offensive if U.S. military operations continue.

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department has urged Americans to reconsider travel to and through the Middle East as security conditions across the region continue to deteriorate.

In a statement posted on X, the department described the security environment as “complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation” and advised U.S. citizens to carefully review travel plans, monitor developments closely and confirm flight schedules with airlines before traveling.

Americans already in the region were also reminded to remain vigilant and exercise heightened caution.

The latest strikes underscore the continued escalation between Washington and Tehran, raising concerns that the conflict could widen further and threaten regional stability, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes.
