President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the South-West Development Commission Bill, the South-South Development Commission Bill, and the Nigeria Anti-Doping Bill, 2025.
The Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, announced this in a statement, describing the new legislations as a reflection of Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance, regional development, and Nigeria’s global reputation.
“By signing into law the establishment of the South-West and South-South Development Commissions, President Tinubu has reaffirmed his role as a transformational leader who prioritizes regional empowerment, economic expansion, and infrastructural excellence,” Lado stated.
He explained that the commissions will drive industrial growth, create jobs, and advance social development, ensuring that every region benefits from the administration’s policies.
Lado also highlighted the Nigeria Anti-Doping Bill, 2025, saying it reinforces Nigeria’s commitment to fairness and integrity in global sports.
“By domesticating the UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sports, his administration has safeguarded the future of Nigerian sports, protecting our athletes from unfair practices while reinforcing our global reputation as a nation that upholds integrity,” he added.
