Tinubu Calls For Accountability Following Ibadan Explosion

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep concern and sadness regarding the tragic explosion that unfolded in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday night.
The explosion resulted in the loss of three lives, injuries to around 80 individuals, and substantial damage to numerous buildings, vehicles, and properties.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu underscored the alarming attribution of the blast to illegal mining activities.
Expressing his distress, Tinubu emphasized the imperative to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the explosion. He stated, “It is worrisome that the cause of the blast is being attributed to the activities of illegal miners. Those behind the inexcusable and reckless behaviour that has created the conditions for the sad incident to occur must be fished out and punished.”
President Tinubu extended his condolences to the government and people of Oyo State and urged relevant government agencies to promptly investigate the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
Additionally, he directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with the Oyo State Government in delivering immediate and comprehensive relief to the victims.
