Mosaku Oluyemi Bamidele (M.O.B) Initiative was officially unveiled on October 1 in Akute ,Ogun State.
As Nigeria commemorates her 62nd anniversary, Nigerians celebrates with mixed feeling as there has not been a significant change in governance and the economy which has worsened, resulting in the struggle of people living in the country.
Most of the criticism goes to the government and various leaders in different capacities for not paying attention to alternative ways citizens can give back to the society to stimulate the country’s growth from the grassroots.
The founder and executive director of M.O.B Initiative, Mr Oluyemi Mosaku is a researcher and an expert in environmental toxicology. Among his various qualifications and educational experiences, birthed the Mosaku Oluyemi Bamidele Initiative( M.O.B.) as a means to perform his corporate social responsibility.
The unveiling programme, was tagged “Walking As One For The Good Of Many”.
In his opening speech, Mr. Mosaku gave thanks to God for the privilege given to him to begin the project. He appreciated his friends, family, and everyone for their support. He said, “The vision was given by God and inspired by his experiences.” He stated the initiative’s vision and mission, which is to transform the lives of society’s marginalised and vulnerable people, particularly those who have lost loved ones and have no one to care for them.
He stated that “The M.O.B Initiative is strictly humanitarian and is neither political nor religious in nature, as it is open to all Nigerians.”
The unveiling was graced by Babasuen Faseru, a Nigerian filmmaker and award-winning actor who has featured in movies like “Jennifer’s Diary” and “My Siblings and I.”
As the guest speaker laid more emphasis on the need to give, he said, “All humans should make it a habit to give, and we must work not just together but as one in making our society a better place for all, regardless of our social class or religious differences.”
Giving the vote of thanks, Mrs. Oladapo appreciated the founder, speaker, volunteers, and everyone present. She reiterated the need to give and support the initiative’s growth in all capacities as it is a vital way of saving the society and our nation, Nigeria.
At the end of the program, attendees and the elderly were given free medical check up and food items.
