The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has dismissed speculations that Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State is shifting focus to re-election campaigns, affirming that the governor remains fully committed to delivering good governance ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
In a statement on Thursday, APGA spokesperson Ejimofor Opara clarified that despite the official campaign window opening on June 11, Soludo is prioritizing key development goals over political activities.
“First, as a government, there are deadlines that Governor Soludo has set for himself and everyone on the solution team,” Opara said.
“Thus, a campaign at this time would be more of a distraction, and residents will not accept excuses.”
He noted that the governor is consolidating gains in infrastructure, education, economic development, and other critical areas building what he called “indelible footprints” across the state.
“For the first time in the state’s known history, residents will be making a decision based on massive evidence of sterling performance, not hearsay,” the statement added.
Opara stressed that APGA fully backs Soludo’s governance-first approach, stating the party is confident in its political structure and the governor’s record.
“So, for now, Soludo is very busy and APGA encourages him to remain focused. Our vehicle is sound, and the road ahead is clear.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier released the final list of candidates for the upcoming election and confirmed the campaign period would run until November 6.
While other candidates have begun mobilizing, APGA insists that Soludo’s track record will speak for itself when campaign activities formally begin in the coming months.
