The Senate on Wednesday, July 19, haven reconvened for plenary, noticeably omitted the expected president Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list.
This is in spite of numerous reports and sources that claimed the President had sent a list of nominees for ministerial positions to legislators.
According to the law, President Tinubu has nine days to submit his list of ministerial nominations to the National Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
According to the law, President Tinubu must send the National Assembly the list of ministerial nominees no later than 60 days after taking the oath of office.
Recall that the incumbent administration was inaugurated on May 29, when former President Muhammadu Buhari handed over the mantle of leadership to Tinubu.
Going by the constitutional provision of 60 days, Tinubu has less than ten days to constitute his cabinet.
