Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Pushes for Spring Trial Amidst Sex Trafficking Allegations

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is pushing for a trial next spring to face sex trafficking charges, according to a letter from his lawyers submitted to a Manhattan federal judge on Wednesday. Combs, 54, has been in custody since his September 16 arrest, accused of orchestrating a pattern of physical and sexual abuse against women over several years.

The indictment alleges that Combs used a network of associates and employees to coerce and abuse women, employing blackmail, kidnapping, arson, and violence to prevent victims from coming forward. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges and denies the allegations.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has argued that the case involves consensual acts and that prosecutors are attempting to criminalize Combs’ private behavior. Combs is reportedly eager to clear his name at trial, which he hopes will take place in April or May.

Prosecutors have yet to specify a preferred trial date but have agreed to be available. Two previous judges ruled that no bail conditions would ensure public safety if Combs were released, leading to his continued detention.
