President Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Annual Leave in the UK and France

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after completing his two-week annual leave, which included a working vacation in the United Kingdom and an important engagement in France. The presidential jet carrying Tinubu landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Saturday evening, where he was warmly received by a team of government officials.

Dada Olusegun, a presidential aide, confirmed the president’s arrival on his X page, writing, “The eagle has landed. Welcome home, Mr President.”

Among those present to greet Tinubu were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Other ministers, including Wale Edun (Finance) and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Budget and Economic Planning), were also present at the airport.

President Tinubu initially left Abuja on October 2 for a two-week working vacation as part of his annual leave. During his time abroad, Tinubu used the opportunity to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms. On October 11, he departed from the UK to Paris for what his Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, described as an important engagement.

Although the presidency announced that the trip would last two weeks, Tinubu spent additional days abroad before returning to Nigeria. The extended absence of both President Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, who left for a two-day trip to Sweden, had sparked some criticism. However, the presidency assured that there was no vacuum in leadership during this period.
