President Tinubu Appoints Gbajabiamila As Chief Of Staff

Four days after taking office as president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally announced his first set of appointments.
The outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, was appointed by President Tinubu as his new Chief of Staff in a statement released on Friday and signed by the State House Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye.
President Tinubu of Nigeria also appointed Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, a former deputy governor of Jigawa State, as the Deputy Chief of Staff in a statement titled “President Tinubu appoints Gbajabiamila COS, Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia, DCOS, and George Akume, SGF.”
Senator George Akume, the recently-retired Minister of Special Duties, was appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The statement reads: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Friday in Abuja announced the appointment of Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff, and Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.
“In a meeting with Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), the President also named former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).”
The new Chief of Staff to the President, Gbajabiamila, was seen being showed around the Chief of Staff wing of the State House by certain State House personnel before the appointments were made public.
Ambassador Victor Adeleke had been appointed the State Chief of Protocol (SCoP) and had since assumed office prior to the announcement of the three new appointments.
