Police Pardon ‘Policewoman’ Who Recited National Anthem Wrongly

The Nigeria Police Force has pardoned Mercy Isoyip, also known as Descushiel, an actress who went viral recently for singing the National Anthem wrongly at a public event.
Recall that last week, at the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Owerri, the capital of Imo state, Descushiel, dressed in a police uniform, led the recitation of the national anthem.
Dignitaries which included Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun attended the retreat, which was attended by senior police and military officers.
During the event, which was aired live on Monday, the policewoman stood on the stage to render the National Anthem, but muddled up the lyrics, sparking outrage as many trolled her for making such an error.
After the public embarrassment, the actress took to her social media page to apologize to Nigerians and the Police authorities.
In an update on the matter, the Nigeria Police on Sunday revealed that the actress has been pardoned for the error.
