Peter Obi Visits Victims of Mosque Explosion in Kano

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, visited victims of a bomb attack at a mosque in Gadan village, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
On Sunday, Obi visited the injured at the Murtala Specialist Hospital in Kano. He condemned the attack, describing it as a senseless and horrific act of violence.
Speaking with reporters, Obi expressed deep sorrow over the incident and emphasized the need for unity and support for the victims.
“This is very horrific and remains very condemnable. It’s sad this can happen in our nation today. Nobody can say why this young boy can do a thing like this to his own family members and the society,” Obi stated.
“We remain in solidarity condemning such an act. My reason for coming here is to show that solidarity and support in their care in one way or the other and the hospital management in what they are doing and again condemn this senseless act of violent killing.”
Obi also extended his condolences to the government and people of Kano, urging the nation to stand together against such violence.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Husseini Muhammad, reported that the hospital received a total of 23 victims from the attack.
Tragically, 15 have passed away, while eight are still receiving medical treatment.
Dr. Muhammad praised Obi for his visit, highlighting it as a gesture of national unity.
“Seven of the patients are being treated in Surgical Ward C, while one is in critical condition in the Mother ICU of the hospital,” Dr. Muhammad added.
