Peter Obi Urges Citizens To Prayers for Compassionate Leaders

Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has attributed Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and numerous challenges to irresponsible and unempathetic leadership. In his Easter message delivered through his media aide, Ibrahim Umar, on Saturday, the former Anambra State governor emphasized the need for compassionate and caring leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people.

“This season is the best time to pray for tender-hearted, caring leaders, as seen in Jesus’ example,” Obi said, describing Easter as a moment to reflect on the sacrificial nature of true leadership. He stressed that the current state of the nation reflects the actions of leaders who lack empathy, urging Nigerians to yearn for individuals capable of transforming the country’s resources into collective prosperity.

“Compassionate leaders consider the people’s welfare in all their decisions, including both actions and inactions,” he added.

Obi also used the occasion to encourage his supporters and the wider public not to lose hope, especially members of the Obidient movement globally. “Our Redeemer lives and assures us a New Nigeria is possible. Happy Easter,” he concluded.
