Peter Obi Emerges Labour Party Presidential Candidate By Consensus

Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has emerged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party of Nigeria for the 2023 general elections.

Obi emerged after a presidential primary election held in Asaba, Delta State.

Obi’s Campaign Director, Doyin Okupe confirmed that other aspirants in the race like Professor Pat Utomi, Faduri Joseph and Olushola Emmanuel-Tella stepped down for him.

Emmanuel-Tella who was the only female aspirant had initially stood her ground that she would not step down for Obi but eventually did so.

Addressing delegates earlier, Obi said he is ready to restructure Nigeria and it’s time for the people to come out and vote.
