Dame Patience Jonathan has dispelled speculations about former President Goodluck Jonathan running for the presidency in the 2027 elections. During a visit by the Greater Igbo Forum (GIF) Worldwide in Abuja, she affirmed that her husband, having already served in key political roles, is no longer interested in contesting.

“My husband has reached the pinnacle of political office. What is he looking for again? We are not going in again,” she said, emphasizing that the former president is focused on supporting the current administration and fostering unity across the nation.

Dame Jonathan further urged the Igbo community to put aside political differences and work towards national peace and progress, highlighting the importance of unity for future generations.
