Senior Pastor of House On The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has categorically denied claims that he was seen brandishing a firearm in a video currently circulating on social media.
In a statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Pastor Adefarasin clarified that the object in question was not a firearm and emphasized that he never pointed any weapon at anyone.
“You might be aware of a video which has been circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you of this — that, that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone,” he stated.
Describing the situation as a “mischief,” the respected cleric expressed gratitude for the concern and understanding shown by his followers. He further announced that the issue would be briefly addressed during the church’s 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday.
“We understand the concern that this accusation may have caused, and we will speak briefly to this mischief during the 9:00 am service tomorrow,” Pastor Adefarasin said.
The video has attracted widespread public attention and sparked heated debates on social media platforms, prompting calls for clarity about the object and the context of the footage.
Remaining focused on his spiritual mission, Pastor Adefarasin encouraged his followers to stay grounded in faith.
“Trusting that this meets you well, winning and on top of the tests of life,” his statement began, reflecting his pastoral tone.
As the church community and the public await further clarification during Sunday’s service, anticipation continues to build around the matter.
