Chairman of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc and governorship aspirant, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has pledged to industrialise Osun State if elected governor in the August 8, 2026 election.
Ogunbiyi, who is seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, made the promise during his ongoing statewide consultation in Ila and Ifedayo Local Government Areas, where he met with APC leaders, ward executives, and other stakeholders.
“I will put Osun State on the map with huge investments in agriculture, urban renewal, industrialisation, and youth employment, as stated in my manifesto, if given the mandate to serve,” Ogunbiyi declared.
The insurance executive noted that despite never holding public office, he had created 5,000 jobs through personal initiatives. “Very few of us can boast of this achievement without power,” he said, stressing his commitment to good governance and sustainable development.
He added that the energy and support of local communities reflected a shared vision for a prosperous Osun. “I am committed to making Osun a hub for industrialisation, creating opportunities for our youth, and ensuring sustainable growth,” he affirmed.
Former House of Representatives member, Femi Kehinde, who spoke at the event, described Ogunbiyi as a self-made man with prudence and strong intellectual capacity to transform the state for the benefit of its people.
