Sani Idris-Muhammed, a pilgrim from Kano State, died while performing the hajj in Saudi Arabia in 2022, according to the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Alhaji Muhammed Abba-Danbatta, the executive secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, disclosed this to newsmen on Saturday.
He claimed that Idris-Muhammed, a native of the Madobi Local Government Area, passed away on Saturday in a general hospital in Mecca following a brief illness.
“The deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites at Grand mosque at Masjid Haram Shira yard in Mecca,” he said.
Abba-Danbatta consoled the victim’s relatives and prayed for the deceased.
