Five months after his coronation, the first class traditional ruler paid a visit to the President with some of his chiefs.
The monarch said at the State House that he came to appreciate President Buhari for sending a high-powered team to his coronation and to make certain demands on behalf of his people.
He described President Buhari as a dogged patriot and fervent believer in Project Nigeria, saying that the Itsekiri people will continue to support the unity of the country.
The Olu of Warri asked Buhari to address the under-utilization of the four ports in Warri, Koko, Sapele, and Burutu, all in Delta State and immortalizing the first Finance Minister of the country, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh.
Speaking further, Emiko urged the President to resuscitate the abandoned Ogidigben EPZ Project, and immediately reconstitute the NDDC board.
In his remarks, President Buhari thanked the monarch for the visit and pledged to work on the request made on behalf of the Itsekiri people.
“I’m grateful for your visit and impressed by your patriotism. I’ve taken note of your requests, and will work on them as soon as politically possible,” he said.
