NUT Condemn The Kidnap Of Abuja Vice-principal, Demand His Release

Gunmen stormed the staff quarters of the Government Junior Secondary School, Yebu, in Abuja’s Kwali Area Council, kidnapping the school’s vice-principal, Muhammed Nuhu.
The incident occurred on Saturday, according to reports.
According to sources, attackers opened fire indiscriminately and roped the security guards at the school gate.
They got away with the vice principal after that.
“The assailants have not contacted out to demand ransom,” one of the sources stated on Wednesday.
Dr. Mike Ene, the National Secretary-General of the National Union of Teachers, condemned the attack and called on the government to make the vice principal’s release easier in an interview with our correspondent.
“We strongly condemn this incident, and it is heartbreaking to learn that our teachers are in danger. We are pleading with the authorities to save Mr. Muhammed Nuhu.

The PUNCH has learned that the abductors of the six-person kidnapped from the University of Abuja on Tuesday have contacted their relatives.
On Wednesday, sources close to the situation verified this new development.
“For each person, they sought N50 million.” One of the individuals said, “They’ve called the families, but that’s all we know right now.”
“They got in touch with the families,” Habib Yakoob, the school’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed. They’re asking for N300 million for all of them.
Gunmen invaded the university’s staff quarters in the early hours of Tuesday, abducting two professors, a non-academic staff member, and three others.
