“No Food for a Lazy Man,” Remi Tinubu Tells Youth

First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerian youths to cultivate a strong work ethic, asserting that “there is no food for the lazy man.” Her remarks were made during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Thursday.

During her visit, Mrs. Tinubu highlighted the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to address the nation’s challenges but stressed the importance of personal initiative in securing livelihoods. “Nigeria is a land that’s flowing with milk and honey, but we need to sustain it for generations to come,” she stated, emphasizing the need for collective action to overcome current difficulties.

Mrs. Tinubu expressed confidence in the government’s commitment to stabilizing the economy following the removal of fuel subsidies, urging citizens to remain patient. “We are trying to fix and secure the future,” she noted, while also pointing out the growing global interest in business opportunities within Nigeria.

The visit coincided with the inauguration of the 2.7-kilometer Oluremi Tinubu Way and Pavilion at Obafemi Awolowo University, a project commissioned by the Ooni of Ife in her honor. In response, the Ooni acknowledged the First Lady’s contributions and praised the administration’s dedication to national improvement.
