NNPP Criticizes Tinubu’s Administration, Urges Policy Review

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s government as it marks one year in office.
In its one-year assessment, the NNPP expressed disappointment, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has inflicted hardship instead of delivering benefits.
In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Oladipo Johnson, the NNPP called for an urgent review of the Federal Government’s economic policies to address the suffering of the people and boost productivity. The party highlighted troubling economic indicators, such as a 33.69% inflation rate and 40.53% food inflation, as reported by the National Bureau of Statistics.
The NNPP also pointed to a fiscal crisis, noting the devaluation of the naira and extensive borrowing. The party urged the government to reduce governance costs, address corruption, and prioritize essential sectors like education and health over wasteful expenditures.
Concerns were raised about the manufacturing sector, with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria reporting that 367 companies ceased production and 335 are in distress, resulting in unsold goods worth N350 billion.
The NNPP criticized the government’s handling of the emirate crisis in Kano State and called for President Tinubu to focus on pressing national issues. The party concluded by emphasizing that Nigerians deserve better governance to alleviate poverty, hunger, and insecurity.
