The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has executed a major reshuffle of its senior officers to enhance operational efficiency and introduce new leadership perspectives. Approved by Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, this strategic realignment aims to optimize the NAF’s leadership and operational effectiveness.

NAF Deputy Spokesman Group Captain Kabiru Ali revealed that the redeployment affects key positions, including Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOCs), Directors, and Commanders. Notable changes include Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Olasunkanmi Abidoye, who moves from the Defence Headquarters to become the Chief of Standards and Evaluation at NAF Headquarters, and AVM Adeniyi Amesinlola, who will now serve as Chief of Transformation and Innovation.

Other significant appointments are AVM Abubakar Adamu as Group Managing Director of NAFIL Group, AVM Iboro Etukudo as Chief of Policy and Plans, AVM Francis Edosa overseeing Training and Operations, and AVM Dalhat Ladan in charge of Air Intelligence. AVM Suleiman Usman will head Communication and Information Systems. Additional changes include AVM Sayo Olatunde and AVM Lanre Oluwatoyin, who will assume roles at the Defence Headquarters as Chief of Defence Policy and Plans and Chief of Defence Space Administration, respectively.

The reshuffle also impacts several AOCs: AVM Elijah Ebiowe will lead the Tactical Air Command in Makurdi, AVM Sunday Aneke will head the Mobility Command in Yenagoa, AVM Abubakar Abdullahi will direct the Air Training Command in Kaduna, and AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun will manage the Logistics Command in Ikeja.

CAS Air Marshal Abubakar praised the new appointees and highlighted the strategic importance of this reshuffle in utilizing resources more effectively and addressing current security challenges with innovative approaches.
