Multichoice, one of the leading satellite television service providers in Sub-Saharan Africa, has informed its customers of an impending increase in prices for both DSTV and GOtv packages.
The announcement, titled ‘Price Adjustment on DStv and GOtv Packages,’ was made by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, John Ugbe, in a statement issued to customers on Wednesday.
The price adjustment, attributed to the rising cost of business operations, is set to take effect on May 1, 2024.
According to the statement, the increase in prices reflects the need to maintain the quality of service despite the challenges posed by escalating operational costs.
“We understand the impact this change may have on you – our valued customer, but the rise in the cost of business operations, has led us to make this difficult decision.

As part of the price adjustment, the Premium package on DSTV, previously priced at N29,500, will now cost N37,000 per month. Similarly, the Compact Plus package, which currently stands at N19,800, will be increased to N25,000. The price changes also affect other DSTV packages, with adjustments ranging from N1,200 to N1,900.
For GOtv subscribers, the Supa+ package, previously priced at N12,500, will now cost N15,700 monthly, while the Supa package will see an increase from N7,600 to N9,600. The adjustments extend across all GOtv packages, with changes ranging from N700 to N1,275.
