Mohamed Salah To Lead Egypt In Africa Cup Of Nations

Liverpool’s star forward, Mohamed Salah, headlines Egypt’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, as announced by their Portuguese manager, Rui Vitoria, on Saturday.
Salah will be part of the attacking force alongside Al-Ahly forward Mahmoud Kahraba.
However, notable exclusions from the squad for the competition in the Ivory Coast which will run from January 13-February 11, include Abdallah Said of Egyptian club Pyramids, Mahmoud Hamdy from Zamalek, and Al Ahly duo Hussein El Shahat and Mohamed Magdy.
Egypt, a seven-time champion, was defeated by Senegal in the last Cup of Nations final in 2021, and their most recent triumph dates back to 2010. Therefore, Vitoria remains cautious about their prospects.
“We will treat each game as a final,” he said, acknowledging the challenging Group B draw, which includes Mozambique, Ghana, and Cape Verde.
