Mmesoma Ejikeme Apologizes To JAMB Over  Result Forgery

Mmesoma Ejikeme, the 19-year-old candidate in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) fraud case, has finally apologized to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Ejikeme on Wednesday read an apology letter in the presence of an investigative hearing by the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee to probe the matter.
In her letter of apologies, Ejikeme begged for forgiveness and stated that she had never engaged in any type of exam fraud.
The Registrar of the JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, was additionally present during the hearing.
Recall how the examination body accused Ejikeme with falsifying her UTME results.
She claimed that her score was 362, the highest for this year, despite JAMB insisting that it was just 249 at the time.
The issue raised a lot of controversies as it stirred up several reactions.
The examination body has, in the heat of the controversy, banned her from taking the examination for three years.
However, two weeks ago, the House of Representatives addressed the case.
The lawmakers voiced concerns over JAMB’s handling of the case, particularly its decision to revoke the student’s result and implement a three-year ban.
The House members suggested the possibility that an adult might have manipulated the girl, thus prompting an ad-hoc committee formation to investigate the matter.
They asked JAMB to pause any action until the investigation concludes.
