Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has urged Nigerians to take personal responsibility for the security of their communities, saying the fight against insecurity should not be left to government alone.
Obasa made the call on Saturday at a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, where he acknowledged that the country is currently grappling with serious security challenges.
He stressed that citizens must take active interest in safeguarding their immediate environment, insisting that collective action is essential to effectively tackle insecurity across the country.
“We have seen the president in action and how he is innovating and working hard to resolve our many challenges, especially insecurity and we believe he will get it done,” Obasa said.
“He is still the man that can do it. That is why we must do everything within our powers to ensure that he is returned in 2027,” he added.
Obasa urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and give him full support, saying such backing is critical to restoring security and stabilising the country.
“It is about everybody. We must all be involved in fighting this problem. We must give the President all the support that we can so that he will succeed in his attempts to redirect the trajectory of Nigeria,” he stated.
