Six persons who were kidnapped by bandits from the University of Abuja Staff Quarters on Tuesday have been rescued.
They include Joseph Obansa, an Economics professor, and his two children, Mallam Sambo, the university deputy registrar, Dr Fegurson Tobins, and Prof. Bassey Udom of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, and his two children.
Dr. Habib Yakoob, the university’s Public Relations Officer, verified the news on Friday morning.
He stated, “Yes, I can confirm that they have all been released.”
They were rescued, he added, by a joint security group made up of security agencies and university security officials.
