The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has appointed Kamoru Ogunlana as the new Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), with his tenure officially commencing on February 2, 2025. The appointment, confirmed in a letter dated November 6, 2024, was signed by NASC Executive Chairman Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi, who lauded Ogunlana’s dedication and administrative skill. Amshi expressed confidence in Ogunlana’s ability to “uphold the high standards” that earned him this role.
To ensure a seamless transition, Ogunlana will work alongside the current CNA, Sani Magaji Tambuwal, until Tambuwal retires on February 2, 2025. NASC has planned an extensive handover process, allowing Ogunlana to collaborate with Tambuwal over the coming months.
Ogunlana, born on June 22, 1967, in Tiko, Cameroon, hails from Omu-Ijebu in Odogbolu, Ogun State, Nigeria. A Law graduate from Ogun State University, he completed his training at the Nigerian Law School in 1989/1990 and was called to the Bar in 1990. Ogunlana is a member of both the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA).
