Despite the unintended military drone strike in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Northern senators and the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu have expressed confidence in the nation’s security forces.
While acknowledging the tragic consequences of the recent military incident, resulting in numerous injuries and 85 confirmed deaths, Ribadu and the lawmakers commended the dedication of security agencies in addressing security challenges in the region.
During a fact-finding tour to Tudun Biri village, the NSA praised the security agencies and assured that a thorough inquiry would commence immediately to prevent a recurrence of the incident.
“We are here to physically see and also talk directly to the people, victims, and families and make an assessment for the Federal Government. It is a tragedy and misfortune. But it has happened. What matters is: how we move forward, what we going to learn from here, and what exactly we need to do,” Ribadu stated.
He commended Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for his mature and effective leadership in managing the regrettable event, particularly in providing supplies and logistics to the victims.
Accompanied by senators from the North, led by Senator Abdul Ningi, they offered condolences to Governor Sani over the devastating bomb attack. While expressing sorrow for the event, the senators lauded the security services for their successes in combating banditry and terrorism in the North West and North Central geopolitical zones.
They urged Nigerians to allow the government to conduct a comprehensive investigation, setting aside emotions, to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in the future.
